Three siblings and their mother try to rebuild their lives after the unexpected death of their father. The eldest sister Ola returns to her family home from Warsaw after a two-year absence. She discovers that the house is up for sale, and a stranger is sleeping in her mother's bed. Her family seem to have moved on with their lives, and Ola's stay at home is not welcome. While packing for the move, Ola finds family video tapes. Along with her siblings – younger brother Pipek and youngest sister Ajka – they decide to recreate their childhood photos. Ola strives to bring the three of them closer and reconnect the broken family bonds. Before that happens, recalling painful memories will cause the siblings to clash even more. Ola realises that each of them is dealing with trauma in their own way – alone and unable to cope. By confronting her family, she manages to break the tension that has been lingering in the air.
Jenny (Emma Nova) is unwantedly pregnant by her boyfriend Bolle (Paul Wollin). She would in fact like to have a family, but with a drug problem and a jail sentence about to start… When the youth welfare service learns of her pregnancy and allocates her Marla (Friederike Becht) as a midwife, Jenny at first reacts with rejection. However, Marla doesn’t condemn her, but sees her as the person she is inside. Gradually Jenny gains the courage to face her fears and take responsibility – for the new life forming inside her and for herself.

Woman, life, freedom! After the death of a young Iranian woman in Teheran, thousands take to the streets – in Germany too. Portrait of a protest which brought different generations together. On 13th September 2022, Jina Mahsa Amini was arrested by the Iranian vice squad because she was wearing her headscarf wrongly. Three days later, she died in custody. Her death set off a howl of protest all over the world. Many exiled Iranians, who fled the new regime in Tehran in the 1970s, protested – but also 2nd generation German-Iranians like Jasmin Shakeri, Pegah Ferydoni, Natalie Amiri and Enissa Amani. Together they took to the streets to help the old country find freedom.
