13-year-old FiDan's mother Serap is terminally ill and spends her days in hospitals. Her father Emir, a truck driver, has a hard time accepting his wife's illness and gradually withdraws into his own shell. FiDan, who is extremely intelligent, ranks first in the Anatolian and Science High School experimental exams held throughout the province.
