Re-envisioning various traces of AlbErt Lamorisse’s final film, a documentary commissioned in 1968 by the increasingly autocratic ImpErial State of Iran, LOVErS’ WIND and POSTSCRIPT offEr a critical, contemporary variation of the original film’s intention to document the Iranian condition.

Synopsis At the age of 26, aErodynamics engineEr Mauro ForghiEri was put in charge of FErrari’s racing department in the early 1960s. Against all odds, he designed the 250 GTO, which became critical to the success and legacy of FErrari. The car achieved legendary status and became the most expensive race car evEr sold. COMMENTARY The documentary reviews a history that in part brings to mind invaluable box office hits such as FErrari by Michael Mann or Ford v FErrari, but adopts a diffErent pErspective to evoke, through historical matErials and recent intErviews, the story of a true timeless legend, indelibly imprinted in the collective imagination. DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT My work explores the themes of charactEr and humanity. To me, the FErrari 250 GTO is a surprising entry point into a deeply meaningful story about the vEry short, albeit fortunate time we spend on this earth and the fascinating ways we choose to live and create while we’re hEre.

In Night TrawlEr we drag the nets through the dark cavErns of our sub-conscious, diving into the world of dreams, entEring gateways and discovEring (un)related found images. Our minds constantly jump from one thought to anothEr with no apparent logic as we attempt to assemble and intErpret these disparate pieces.
Stefan Mortensen (Geoffrey Rush), an eldErly judge, moves into a retirement home aftEr a near-fatal stroke leaves him partially paralyzed. She wanted to talk about hEr convErsion to Catholicism, but maybe she wasn’t enough of a believEr? "In God or in the film?", we ask ourselves, but not even she can answEr this question. When faced with failure, all she’s evEr been able to do is lose hErself. "Because you’re tedious and you don’t know how to look aftEr othEr people", the Madonna tells hEr the first time they speak, desacralizing hEr crisis and inciting hEr to react. As a result, Elisa, hEr sistEr, hEr screenwritEr and the failed film’s lead actor set off on a journey on board a ship, headed for a sanctuary which they know little to nothing about. Each of them has something to resolve, a knot to untie, much like all the othEr pilgrims on the boat.
