An anthology film by Striptease, the famous Belgian collective that has been sifting through society (on TV, then in film) since the 1980s. In this third film, we meet influencers in Dubai, a self-taught actress in Avignon, a mother who rhymes perfection with perversion, a hypochondriac doctor and a well-connected stiff. These lives are all Sisyphean quests to find meaning in existence and one’s place in the world, reflecting back our own pride and absurdity. In short, a movie that embraces the function and form of contemporary vanity with as much malice as bite. © FNC 2024
In Season 2 of ITN Productions‘ series, the British journalist and author will head to the Americas to search for evidence supporting his hypothesis that an advanced civilization was lost to history in the series of cataclysms that brought the last Ice Age to an apocalyptic end between 12,800 and 11,600 years ago. Each episode investigates new discoveries being made in the American hemisphere, which until recently has been largely under-explored by archaeologists interested in humanity’s origins. Episodes take place in the likes of New Mexico, Peru and Brazil.

The quiet, shy boy meets a number of colourful personalities on his journey, who put him to the test but also allow him to overcome shame and allow himself to be himself. It is a story about the clash of faith with adolescence, about self-acceptance and... that life is worth having fun with.

Director Livia Vonaesch has followed the parents and their six children with her camera for several years at sea. The result is an intimate portrait of a fascinating family living the great dream of boundless freedom in a confined space. 'It takes tremendous courage to film with a camera on the high seas and in confined surroundings. It is even more impressive if you have the talent to reach for the camera precisely when the unexpected happens.
The film tells the story of Paula, whose will to live is extinguished after her little brother Tim drowns in the sea in Trieste. But when she meets old Helmut, who wants to take his ex-wife's urn to Italy, she finally sees a glimmer of hope. She decides to travel to the beach in Trieste, where her brother died, to find closure. During the journey, she not only picks up a new zest for life but also develops an unexpected friendship with Helmut.
