L’arte di Mario Merola è stata multimediale: canzone, teatro, cinema. Ma è soprattutto alla sceneggiata che ha legato la sua fama e la sua grandezza: un teatro dei poveri, un’arte popolare che Merola affrontava con un’adesione e un’autorevolezza totale. Solo negli anni Settanta intellettuali come GoffREDo Fofi (qui intervistato insieme a tanti altri: da Nino D’Angelo a Maurizio de Giovanni, da Marisa Laurito a Valerio Caprara) si accorsero di lui: ma non per fare un esercizio di rivalutazione camp, dall’alto. Perché per capire Merola, le sue radici in una cultura e società, secolare, occorre entrare nel suo mondo. Questo fa il documentario biografico di Ferrari, dando comunque spazio anche a operazioni imprevedibili come Westmoreland Naples di Marcello Garofalo, in cui Merola affrontò il mondo di Jean Vigo, Fassbinder e Allen Ginsberg: come sempre, con una cREDibilità e un’umiltà straordinarie.
Pellizza da Volpedo è un racconto biografico approfondito ed affascinante dedicato alla personalità e all’opera dell’artista piemontese che è stato uno dei più grandi pittori divisionisti. Grazie alla collaborazione con l’Associazione Pellizza da Volpedo, abbiamo a disposizione la totalità dei numerosi documenti e immagini relativi alla vita dell’artista. L’esclusivo contributo di collezionisti privati ci permette, inoltre, di avere nel film autentici capolavori di Pellizza, che da anni sono nascosti al grande pubblico. Un attore di grande carisma sarà il nostro narratore; con le sue capacità interpretative conferirà al film un ulteriore valore comunicativo ed espressivo. La narrazione storica e scientifica sarà affidata ad interviste ad autorevoli personalità come Aurora Scotti (storica dell'arte), Pierluigi Pernigotti (storico di Volpedo), Carolyn Christov, Bakargiev (direttrice del Castello di Rivoli), Paola Zatti (conservatore della Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Milano).
Three siblings and their mother try to rebuild their lives after the unexpected death of their father. The eldest sister Ola returns to her family home from Warsaw after a two-year absence. She discovers that the house is up for sale, and a stranger is sleeping in her mother's bed. Her family seem to have moved on with their lives, and Ola's stay at home is not welcome. While packing for the move, Ola finds family video tapes. Along with her siblings – younger brother Pipek and youngest sister Ajka – they decide to recreate their childhood photos. Ola strives to bring the three of them closer and reconnect the broken family bonds. Before that happens, recalling painful memories will cause the siblings to clash even more. Ola realises that each of them is dealing with trauma in their own way – alone and unable to cope. By confronting her family, she manages to break the tension that has been lingering in the air.
Tel Aviv, 2020. A second COVID lockdown is impending. After writing yet another article against Prime Minister Netanyahu, the journalist’s mobile is flooded with hateful messages. Meanwhile, he tries in vain to get to his autistic son at a hostel, while his parents, sick of the lockdowns and of each other, are looking to him for help. Later on his daughter, who is at an anti-Netanyahu protest turned violent, won’t pick up her phone, sending him and his wife on a drive to Jerusalem to look for her. On the way, they are forced to face their relationship issues. Late that night, his family is finally reunited and he finds some consolation while his beloved country is in turmoil. The protests against Netanyahu and his corrupt government are yet again beginning to gain momentum.

RED Nails shakes the audience’s emotions with its persistent and chilling portrayal of its characters and relationships.
