A person travels to her birthplace, searching for her lost home/roots. She meets peoplehouses, hybrids who come to life before her eyes and, swallowing her, pull her into their "circle dance". After the trip, the person returns to the city and inhabits various spaces. As she relaxes with her cats, she has a transformative experience, resulting in her becoming a womanhouse, i.e. she becomes her own home.
A group of Czech artists choose to ignore the realities of Nazi occupation in this brooding experimental war drama. When a pretty female refugee comes to town seeking help, she awakens the sexual desires of all the men, but the only one who helps her is a sympathetic sculptor. When she is allegedly killed, the man sends the artists who refused to aid the woman death masks of the victim. All later conclude that the woman was not mortal.

帅克从外表上看去胖乎乎的，有点傻里傻气，实际上他性情憨厚、心地善良耿直、喜欢直话直说。在第一次世界大战期间，帅克自告奋勇去从军，但又被认为是装疯卖傻。由于偶然的机会，他成为了奥匈帝国军队神甫的传令员，不久又被神甫因赌博输给了卢卡什中尉，成为了中尉的传令员。帅克成天为卢卡什中尉玩弄妇女跑前跑后的服务。他还为了讨卢卡什中尉的喜欢，稀里糊涂的把将军的狗偷回来了，因而引起了将军的勃然大怒，闯下了大祸。结果帅克和卢卡什一起被调往前线。在火车上他又再次惹怒了将军。又错拉了火车停车信号器，被列车员罚款，拉下去见站长，结果因为没带证件被德军抓进司令部，等他出来，火车已经开走，他只好徒步去追赶部队。
关系疏远的安德泽和詹纳斯两兄弟都分别是广受好评的电影导演，当哥哥安德泽中风瘫痪后，弟弟詹纳斯和他的妻子决定摒弃前嫌，悉心照顾他...
本片根据波兰著名同名小说改编，讲述了二战期间，华沙被纳粹德国军队占领，波兰童子军的年轻人们与德国占领者进行英勇斗争的故事。 based on a well-known Polish novel with the same title the movie re-tells a true life story of a group of scouts called ''Szare Szeregi'' (Gray Ranks) during the Nazi occupation of Warsaw and the liberation of one of its members (imprisoned and tortured by the Germans) through a maverick military action in board daylight right under the enemy's nose known ''Action at the Arsenal'' which was the biggest single feat of the sort undertaken by a youth resistance organisation in all of occupied Europe during WWII.
This apocalyptic parable carries within it a clear echo of the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia. This unforgiving exploration of the Czech mentality tells the tale of a troupe of wandering actors who perform a passion play in some unnamed village. Fear of some unknown danger breaks out in the village, which is cut off from the surrounding world. Stupidity, selfishness and aggressiveness then come to the surface in this society under threat. In the film's key scene, a woman is raped by the self-styled leader. Zdenuk Mahler, who would later work on Forman's examination Mozart Amadeus, worked on the script. The director Evald Schorm (1929-1988) was one of the most original members of the Czech New Wave. During the normalization era, Schorm spent many years unable to direct. His last film, Killing with Kindness (1988) was only made in the twilight years of Communism. During that period when he was unable to direct films, he became an outstanding stage director. He directed groundbreaking productions at the Na zábradlí Theater and Laterna Magika.
