On 13th September 2022, Jina Mahsa Amini was arrested by the Iranian vice squad because she was wearing her headscarf wrongly. Three days later, she died in custody. Her death set off a howl of protest all over the world. Many exiled Iranians, who fled the new regime in Tehran in the 1970s, protested – but also 2nd generation German-Iranians like Jasmin Shakeri, Pegah Ferydoni, Natalie Amiri and Enissa Amani. Together they took to the streets to help the old country find freedom.

The three meet again on a summer’s day to clear out their family home before putting it on the market. While they sort through the things, one sister comes across a mysterious photo of a young man, whose memory still haunts her today. It seems to have been taken outside the house on the day of his fatal accident. As she can’t remember taking the picture, she starts researching and at some point she is sure that the photographer was someone else. Layer by layer, she uncovers a past that contains a bitter truth.
Set in a future where society collapses following a catastrophic pandemic, Die Alone follows Ethan (Douglas Smith), a young man with amnesia, who bands together with Mae (Moss), a rugged survivalist. Under siege from the zombie-like monsters created by the outbreak, Ethan must use Mae’s survival skills to find his missing girlfriend, before a fateful encounter with Kai (Grillo) unravels a secret that lies just beyond his fractured memory.
