Anfangs gar nicht begeistert findet Carl immer mehr gefallen daran, mit dem Mädchen zu reden und so kommt es, dass sie ihn regelmäßig begleitet, und der schüchterne Mann beginnt sich zu öffnen. Gemeinsam begeben sie sich auf eine unerwartete Reise, bei der sich Carl mit seiner Vergangenheit auseinandersetzt und dabei neue Freundschaften und Erlebnisse entdeckt.
